Vision & Information

What you can see, hear, and infer on the island.

Vision & Information

Information is scarce in Survival. After Turn 0, player positions disappear from the public map. Figuring out where people are (and who they are) requires active effort.

What you can see

  • Your tile: You can always see other players in your tile, unless they have Camouflage active.
  • Mountain: Standing on the Mountain lets you see all tiles except special ones. Everyone else can see you too. Camouflage still works here.
  • Forest: You can't see or hear anyone inside a Forest tile, and they can't see or hear you.
  • Map broadcasts: Show items, Collapsing Tiles, deaths, and explosives. Player positions are hidden unless revealed by tile effects or Snitch Cells.

Camouflage

While equipped, Camouflage makes you invisible to enemies and the Mountain during most non-movement actions: Take, Throw, Rest, Take Cover, Craft, Use Medicine, activate explosives, and attacks.

If you use Adrenaline, only the last action determines your visibility.

You're still audible and can still be attacked. Camouflage hides you from sight, not from sound or area effects.

Tracking

The Track action (cooldown: 2) tells you who arrived at and left your tile up to 3 turns ago, including where they came from and where they went. The enhanced version adds the immediately prior turn.

Players moved by Push leave no tracks.

Listening

The Listen action (cooldown: 3) tells you how many players are at distance 0 (your tile) and distance 1. You get counts, not identities. The enhanced version extends the radius by 1 tile per 3 energy spent.

Two players listening from different tiles can cross-reference their results to narrow down enemy positions.

Listen always resolves last in the turn order, so you get end-of-turn information.

Radar

Use Radar (cooldown: 3) reveals the locations of all mines and bombs on the island. The Radar is heavy (8 load), but it's the only way to know where explosives are hidden. You can dismantle it between uses and re-craft it when needed.

Sound

Some events are audible at a distance:

EventAudible range
Death1 tile
Bullet fired2 tiles
Grenade explosion2 tiles
Mine explosionUp to 2 tiles
Bomb explosion3 tiles
