Private Briefings

Your personal event log each turn, the primary source of information in the game.

Private Briefings

After each turn resolves, every player receives a private briefing from the Host. This is your main source of truth. It tells you exactly what happened to you, what you witnessed, and your current status. No other player sees your briefing.

You craft Bullet.
You craft Adrenaline.
You earn 2 Audience Credits for enhancement.

You hear Alex having sex 1 tile away.
You move with your tile to G3.
You recover 11 energy from sex.

Reading the briefing

The briefing has two parts: the event log and the status summary.

Event log

The top section lists everything that happened during the turn, in chronological order following the resolution order. In the example above:

  • Crafting resolved first (line 3 in the resolution order), producing a Bullet and Adrenaline.
  • Audience Credits were earned for the journal entry and for the energy spent enhancing.
  • A sound was heard: Alex having Sex one tile away.
  • A Tile Swap moved this player's tile to a new position (the player didn't move, the ground did).
  • Energy was recovered from Sex (which resolved on a previous turn).
  • The tile's occupants are listed at the end: Dana appears twice because one is a replica.

Status summary

Below the separator, the briefing shows your current state:

  • Team and credits: Your team name and current Audience Credits balance.
  • Energy: Current and maximum (e.g. 12/12).
  • Position: Your tile coordinates.
  • Carry: Current load vs. capacity (e.g. 3/9, reduced from the default 12 by a disadvantage).
  • Inventory: Everything you're carrying, grouped by item with quantities.
  • Action history: Your recent actions. The most recent one just resolved. The next one is preselected and needs details specified now. You also need to preselect an action for the turn after that.
  • Active effects: Any ongoing modifiers from advantages, disadvantages, poison, fire, or armed explosives on your person.

The action loop

In the example, Action 13 (Crafting) just resolved. Action 14 (Move) was preselected last turn. Now the player needs to:

  1. Specify how to perform Move (which direction, whether to enhance).
  2. Preselect the action for Turn 15.

This is the strategic core of the game. You always commit to your next action before knowing what will happen on the current turn.

What you can and can't see

The event log only contains things you personally witnessed:

  • Your actions and their outcomes (damage dealt, items crafted, energy spent).
  • Movement in your tile (players arriving, leaving, and which direction).
  • Combat in your tile (hits taken, hits dealt, deaths, items dropping from dead players).
  • Sounds at a distance (explosions, gunshots, sex). See the audibility table for ranges.
  • Tile effects that hit you (fire, poison, mine explosions).
  • Items appearing or disappearing from your tile.

You won't see:

  • Anything happening in tiles you can't see or hear.
  • Invisible players (Camouflage) unless they perform a visible action.
  • Other players' briefings.
  • Team membership. The briefing never tells you who's on whose team.

Conduct

Do not share your briefing verbatim with other players. Screenshots, copy-pasting, or forwarding the Host's message is against the rules. You can paraphrase what happened to you, but the exact text stays private. Asking other players to share their briefings as proof of anything may result in removal from the game.
